International students are guaranteed University accommodation at
Lampeter in their first year. All halls of residence are situated on campus. The only time you may be required to "live out" is during the second year, if you are following a regular three or four-year course.

The halls of residence at
Lampeter have only single rooms, so, if you are bringing your spouse or family, you will need to arrange alternative accommodation well in advance of your arrival.
International students are generally placed in self-catering accommodation, so that they have the use of a kitchen (shared between the six or seven students on that corridor). Some of the halls of residence are newer than others: the better the quality of the accommodation, the more it costs. All rooms have a wash-basin; the most expensive ones have ensuite bathroom facilities. The allocation of rooms will be on a 'first come, first served' basis. Students from some countries may be impressed at the standard of accommodation at
Lampeter; others may find the rooms smaller and less luxurious than those at their home university. It just depends on what you're used to.
If you take self-catering accommodation, you will need to provide your own bed linen, pillow cases, and towels. You can either bring these items with you, purchase them from the University, or buy them from a shop in
Lampeter. The kitchens in the self-catering accommodation are equipped with an electric cooker, refrigerator, sink unit, work tops, cupboards, table and chairs, but you will have to bring with you your own cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery and tea towels.
