The City of Waterloo, home to the
Conestoga College Kitchener campus, is a vibrant, dynamic community, solidly rooted to the past, entrepreneurial and leading-edge today, strongly committed to the future. The city is proud of its reputation for hard work and craftsmanship, well earned by its highly skilled, trained labour force. As home to two world-class universities and one of Canada's finest community colleges, Waterloo is very proud of its students and graduates, who bring energy, enthusiasm and spirit to our community.
Waterloo is strategically located in Canada's Technology Triangle and enjoys growing recognition for high standards of education, keen entrepreneurship, and technological innovation. Along with extensive research and development facilities, a strong service sector, technology centres, centres of excellence, and a positive lifestyle, Waterloo offers a competitive edge for investment and growth-oriented companies. Situated within an hour's drive of the Toronto International Airport, Waterloo's 102,000 citizens and businesses are linked by major transportation routes to a marketplace of more than 120 million people, and by high-speed telecommunications to the world.
Lifestyle is an extremely important factor for those faced with the decision of choosing a community in which to live, work and play. Recognizing the inherent problems of larger cities, many are choosing smaller scale, greener alternatives. Waterloo, in addition to 1,100 acres of parks and trails, offers internationally recognized recreational, arts and cultural facilities -- a unique opportunity for those who enjoy a smaller but very active community.

At
Conestoga College, the mission in Residence Life is to provide an environment that supports the educational and social development of our residents. The College emphasizes to students the strong importance on student involvement and engagement within the campus community. The reality on how student involvement generates a greater return in student retention has been a strong pulling force to our Residence Life team through the improvement of our residence life programming and enhancement to the facilities.
Our Residence life team would like to encourage students to take the opportunity to meet your resident advisor on your floor and to find out what sort of ways you could become more involved in Residence Life! The Social Orientation Staff will be helping hand-in-hand with the resident advisors to host more fun and exciting events in the building. There should never be an excuse as to why you can't find time to get involved and participate!
Living in residence is a unique experience that will guide you towards learning more about yourself. You will have the opportunity to meet people of varied races, ethnicities, classes, sexual orientations, and genders. You will become part of this dynamic community through residence involvement. In addition to your fellow students, you will meet the residence staff that is available to help and guide you throughout the year at
Conestoga College.
